Daniel Bækkegård - age 23 - is a Danish long distance triathlete. 2019 was Daniel’s first year as a full-time professional athlete. Despite his young age and inexperience on the full distance, he has taken the triathlon world by storm. He did this by winning his debut Ironman at the legendary Ironman Austria-Kärnten in Klagenfurt, just a week after his 70.3 World Championship qualifying win at Ironman 70.3 Finland.
Daniel is a former elite swimmer with a total of 20 national championship medals under his belt. Since 2015 Daniel has been a part of the Danish Triathlon Federation’s youth program and is now living in Odense as a part of the Danish National Team.
Daniel is excited to be a part of Team Fusion for 2020!
